It really bothers me when people glorify Charles Manson. It's one thing to be interested in the story of the Manson Family. To want to learn all the facts and see how this came to be. But, if you do learn all the facts it should be obvious that Manson was nothing more than a weak man who had others do his dirty work by giving them acid and telling them he was their god. It was a bunch of weak-minded people coming together to murder because this man (and he was just that a man) told them to.

He orchestrated the murder of a woman who was 8 months pregnant. He encouraged his "family" to murder 2 older people, parents. If you came home to find your parents slaughtered, with their blood smeared on the walls, would you glorify the man behind the murder? No, you wouldn't.

I don't see people mentioning how Susan Atkins (Sadie Mae Glutz) or Tex Watson are their heroes. Why, because you do not know who they are? Or because they actually picked up the knife and gutted these people?

Charles Manson was a cult leader. He was a murderer. I don't understand the appeal he has to people. Because he was so hip, and against the man, and for the "counter culture"? Admire someone who protested or lived their ideals. Murdering innocent people did nothing to get back at "the man". "The man" could care less.

Is it because you consider him revolutionary? It was the 60s. Pick someone else. It's not like there aren't plenty of choices.

Bottom line, glorify who you want. But, if you want to idolize a criminal....at least pick one who killed people himself.
